Therma for Freelancers

Feast, famine, and the mood in between.

Freelance life removed the scaffolding: no manager, no rhythm, no one noticing how you are. Therma is a 60-second check-in that puts one steady thing back.

The problem

Freelancing trades the boss for a quieter tyrant: uncertainty. Busy months bury you, quiet months hum with a low dread about the next invoice, and both get worked through alone. There is no manager to notice the fraying, no team rhythm to fall back on, and the line between a slow week and a sinking one is easy to miss when nobody is watching.

The freedom is real. So is the drift that comes with it.

Nobody assigns the freelancer a manager for the inside weather.

How Therma helps

Therma puts one fixed point in the week. Sixty seconds a day to mark how it actually felt, a weekly reveal that lines mood up against sleep and the shape of the months.

The pattern that emerges is the one freelancers can never see from inside: what deadline crunches actually cost, how the quiet weeks really land, and which parts of the drift are seasonal rather than personal. Structure, at the smallest possible dose.

What you get

  1. 1
    The 60-second check-in

One question a day, between the client work and the life admin. No blank page, no productivity theater.

  2. 2
    The weekly reveal

Mood against sleep and workload, week over week. The reveal shows how feast and famine actually land, not how they look on the invoice.

  3. 3
    Chat

The 11pm what-am-I-doing spiral has no coworker to catch it. Chat sits with it. No advice, no fixing.

Common questions

Another subscription. Why this one?

There is a free tier that is genuinely usable, not a trial: the daily check-in, the weekly reveal, and Apple Health or Oura integration. If it earns a place in your week, premium adds depth.

My spreadsheets already cover time and money. What does this add?

The variable your spreadsheets are silently resting on. Output and income both follow state, and state is the one column freelancers never keep. Therma keeps it in 60 seconds a day.

What if I miss days?

Nothing bad happens. The streak has grace built in, and the reveal works with the data you gave it. A practice that punishes you for having a life does not survive freelancing.
